Texas is full of just such legends of gold and silver. This web site is for bringing the Old Legends together and bring new stories and legends out that have not made it to books. The site is also to show some of the methods and means to put information together to hopefully help people find some of the treasures in the legends or at least read and learn about how much wealth Texas has in all of the above mentioned topics. If you have any stories that you would like to send me to put in this web site of some history or legend you would like to share please do so with the email address, [email protected] which is also at the bottom of each page. I will look the story over and contact you about the story and send you the story to be put on the web site for your approval before it is published on this site and if the story is published on this site the published story becomes the property of this web site. Hello my name is Earl Theiss and I am a Texas Prospector and Treasure hunter and I love the history of Texas. I hope to make this web site a place where a person can come to find out in TEXAS where to go to learn how to prospect for minerals and what groups in Texas you can learn from and with in the MINERAL PROSPECTING PAGE. In the TEXAS ROCK AND GEMS page learn the Rocks and Gems of Texas and where to look for them and what groups are out there to help them do so. Learn about Texas Legends of Lost Treasures, Lost Mines and other legends where people obtained wealth and objects and lost them or never came back for them that are still there and the stories behind the legends and tips on how you could find them in the LEGENDS page. Also read the stories in the Legends page of Lone Star Ghost Towns some of which follows the legends of the Lost Treasures. Learn how to Metal Detect and the pleasure and fun of that activity has in store for you in the METAL DETECTING page. The EVENTS page will help keep you informed of activities that people are doing in keeping with Prospecting Texas. Each page will have links to places and web sites that follows each topic. As time allows there will be new information, pictures and video in this site. So, sit back and check in as often as you can and see what is added and by who as we develop this site. Also, please visit and LIKE our Prospecting Texas Facebook page to keep up with changes and info.
